Eluent Dir Mini-Tour: The Main Window

The Eluent Dir main window is shown below after executing the Dir Task from the preceding page.

This window is similar to an Explorer Find window, and you can manipulate this window much as you do Explorer windows. The supported operations include:

• Opening a file by double-clicking or pressing Enter
• Multiple-file selection
• Drag and drop to other windows
• Cut/Copy files for later pasting in Explorer windows
• File deletion
• File renaming
• File context menus
• Column resizing and reordering

Once you have finished reviewing the results, you can save them to a tab-delimited text file or start a new Dir Task without leaving this instance of Eluent Dir. If you want to narrow your search, it's possible to search in the current results.
